Learning Objectives

The objective of the school is to bring students up to date on the current debate in theoretical corporate finance and asset pricing, and to illustrate the best practice for the analysis of empirical issues in corporate finance and portfolio choice. Given the short nature of the courses, the focus will be mainly on key concepts rather than on technical details.

Laptop required for practical sessions

Practical sessions will be held in a lecture room, not in a computer lab.
Participants must bring a laptop in order to follow these sessions.

Course schedule for 2021

The schedule of the Pau Business School Finance Summer School is designed to allow students to participate in all courses offered. However, courses can also be taken individually.

Financial Derivatives and Alternative Investments : June 12 - 26
Analysis of Business conditions and Forecasting : June 27 - July 12
Fixed Income : July 9 - 19

Entry requirements

Strong background in economics or related fields.
Working knowledge of English.
There is limited space in the Pau Business School Summer School Courses.
Among the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria, the Pau Business School will select those with more outstanding professional and/or academic careers.


At the conclusion of the Summer Schools, participants will receive a certificate for the number of hours attended and credits. All Pau Business School courses require an average of twice the lecture hours for readings, prereadings and class preparation. Interested students should check with their universities to see if these hours are transferable into ECTS credits.

Admission process
Interested candidates should apply before March 30. After this deadline, your place may not be guaranteed. Capacity of the courses is limited. Some courses may close before March 30 depending on demand.

Applications will be evaluated by the program directors and candidates will be informed of their decision. A document will be attached to our response with payment information.

  • Early bird (book and pay before Feb, 1, 2021) : 10 %
  • 2 Courses : 20 %
  • ESC Pau BS alumni : 10 %

Notes about fees

All discounts are accumulative, e.g. alumni booking two or more courses will receive a further 10 % discount off the total after the multiple course discounts has been applied.

Fees include any materials required for the course as indicated, networking and cultural activities/visit.
